Happy Easter to all those celebrating! Today, me and Ana hosted a brunch for which we’ve spent the entire afternoon and night yesterday in the kitchen making our food delicious and aesthetic. How To: Vegan and Travelling

To my Globe Trotters:

I’ve been vegan for nearly a year and one of my main concerns when initially deciding to go vegan was whether I can still do it while I’m travelling. Since, I have done my fair share of travelling, thus have decided to share my tips and tricks with you.

What I’ve found to be the most influential factor here is whether I’m travelling with someone who’s vegan (or at least vegetarian), or if the entire group is a group of aggressive meat eaters. If you’re travelling entirely by yourself, you’ll surely have less of a problem.

As I’ve recently travelled with a group of non-vegans/ non-vegetarians, I’ve felt compelled to write about this. This is surely what will happen:
-they won’t be impressed by the new vegan restaurant that has instagrammable aesthetics and decorative dishes
-they will be more fussy about where you’re gonna eat than you ever will be

In this case, I’d suggest you do what you would’ve done either way (or at least I would’ve):

-Pack a bag of almonds (and make it a big one; these are your best friend during travelling- you never know if the airport will have good vegan options- take it from someone who’s almost missed flights due to seeking kale salads and spinach juices)

-Do your research in advance (this is something i’m terrible at, but have found to be extremely helpful; especially so when you’re travelling in groups- as you’re likely to be the only one with the list of restaurants, the chances are you’ll get your way)

-Don’t be a fussy eater… as long as the restaurant has something vegan (or can be made vegan)-settle!

On Being Vegan: An 8 Month Update

Hey guys! It’s almost anniversary time! And yes, I am referring to my 1-year-vegan anniversary. Okay, I’m only at 8 months now, but going strong.

Recently, I’ve been thinking of all the benefits to me being vegan and the two most noticeable ones for me have been my energy levels and skin appearance. Additionally, I have managed to cure anemia, which I’ve suffered from for the longest time (around 7 years) by going vegan.

Dreaming of Paris

Hello babies,

It’s a lazy Saturday night and we’re currently laying in Ana’s bed, dreaming of vacations past and missing how fresh our faces looked pre-exam season. It’s hard to not idealize Paris– the city of lights, love, art, and good (vegan!) food. Now that classes have started again, we want nothing more than to be back exploring Saint Germain or strolling along the Seine. That’s why we’ve decided to share some of our favourite moments from Paris with you, as well as the best little vegan place we found tucked away in the 7th arrondissement.

Paris in Autumn was absolutely stunning, and of course we saw the backdrop of flaming leaves as the perfect location for a photoshoot. The Jardin des Tuileries, nestled between the Louvre and the Place de la Concorde, is a beautiful haven from the busy city. It was pouring rain for a lot of the day, which only added to the soft fall vibe (if you forget about the struggle to all fit under Ana’s umbrella).

Of course, a trip to Paris would be incomplete for any fashion lover without a trip to 31 Rue Cambon, the location of the original Chanel shop. The surrounding streets are as glamorous as the brand, and you can’t help feeling just as fancy from walking among Paris’s most fashion forward.

Travelling vegan with a group is never easy– but luckily, in this case, it was two against two, so finding a restaurant went relatively okay. (Especially because we both like to get our way… and we weren’t up for another overpriced salad ordered sans chevre.) After a little research, we found the cutest place tucked out of the way in the lovely Saint Germain neighbourhood. 13-A Baker’s Dozen immediately wowed us with its warm, homey atmosphere, international staff, and delicious menu. After iced berry tea, turmeric lattes, and quinoa porridge, we were ready to keep exploring the streets.

We’re excited for many more adventures like this one and have already started planning a Croatia and an Iceland trip which we’ll keep you updated on. Feel free to send us requests of posts you want us to do, as well as things to try.
